Job Description

Financial Responsibilities

  • Have an awareness of the Unit’s budget and performance targets
  • Maintain appropriate levels of clinical stock to ensure that service provision is facilitated in a cost effective way

 

Business Development

  • Develop and maintain relationships between host site and key relations
  • Share best practice with your peer group
  • Actively support, through your actions, the marketing and promotion of the company

 

Operations

  • Work within site protocols and procedures to ensure the delivery of a quality service and make changes to optimize
  • Liaise with service engineers to facilitate maintenance of equipment, to achieve optimal operational conditions
  • Complete reports as directed by the Operations Director to ensure accurate collation of KPIs
  • Ensure sound knowledge of site RIS systems to ensure all data is recorded in an accurate and timely manner
  • Work in an efficient and effective manner to maximise patient throughput
  • Escalate to the Operations Director any identified issues requiring further management input
  • Ensure full compliance with all current ESC Policies and Procedures, Local Rules and extant legislation; highlighting any changes to operational protocols, procedures and SOPs within own area and contribution to their review
  • Assist with incident and complaint management in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Actively participate in departmental audits
  • Be reflective in thinking and outlook and be able to source advice, coping with multiple demands during the working day
  • Presentations delivered to local teams
  • Undertake education of other staff/public on radiographic matters

 Contracts

  • Have an understanding of the Unit’s contractual agreements
  • Assist the Operation Director in ensuring full compliance with all contractual clinical KPIs

 Managing Change

  • Demonstrate a problem-solving approach to issues arising at a local level, highlighting areas of concern to the appropriate personnel and actively participate in the subsequent change management process

 People Management Responsibility:

  • Manage the Clinical team (Radiographers and Clinical Assistants), including the supervision, coaching and mentoring of Radiographers and Clinical Assistants
  • Work with Operations Director to address performance improvements of the Clinic and/or colleagues; ensuring appropriate supervision, training, assessing, coaching and mentoring. Providing appropriate feedback to the Operations Director
  • Manage the clinical rota, to ensure safe staffing levels are met at all times
  • Motivate staff and promote a high level of morale, ensuring that staff react appropriately to the changing demands
  • Actively engage with your colleagues to foster an environment where clinical excellence flourishes
  • Assist the Operations Director in the undertaking of performance appraisals and creation/setting of SMART objectives
  • Participate in team meetings to manage service provision, continually develop the team, manage conflicting views, disseminating information
  • Assist with clinical recruitment as required
  • Establish good working relationships with customers – including site management, Radiologists and referrers
  • Support and liaise directly with administrative team to ensure appropriate use of daily bookings
